Our Staff

 

Pastor Moses Lee (“PMo”) serves as our lead pastor. He immigrated to the US when he was six and spent most of his life in California and Maryland. He graduated from the University of Maryland College Park where he double majored in Criminology and Government. He also received his Master of Divinity and Master of Theology from Westminster Theological Seminary. He has written extensively for SOLA Network, The Gospel Coalition, ByFaith Magazine, The Witness: A Black Christian Collective, and The Journal of Reformed Theology, among others. He also serves as an envoy for the Langham Partnership and on the Ambassador Council of the Korean American Leadership Initiative (KALI). Finally, he’s a contributing author to the books, Hear Us, Emmanuel: Another Call for Racial Reconciliation, Representation, and Unity in the Church and Christ in the Time of Corona. During his free time, Moses enjoys being a gearhead.

Rachel Jayeon Lee serves as a co-church planter with her husband, Moses. Rachel is a proud 1.5-generation Korean American, born in South Korea and raised in Seattle until she got married and moved to the East Coast for grad school. For her day job, she works closely with community leaders and organizations from the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in the DMV. Previously, she worked at the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research and the American University Antiracist Research and Policy Center. She has written, spoken, and facilitated antiracism training for institutions and organizations. She has written for The Korea Daily, Faithfully Magazine, The SOLA Network, and Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage. She has also worked for organizations focusing on North Korean refugee resettlement and human rights issues. You can read more about her faith and work in this interview by The SOLA Network. She is passionate about good coffee, therapy, and 90’s k-pop.

Joseph Kim is our director of spiritual formation. Joseph was born in Maryland and raised in South Korea and Northern Virginia. In 2011, he served in Korean and American ministry contexts, teaching youth and college students, leading praise, and being involved with overseas missions. Over time, he grew to love preaching and teaching the Bible. He received his B.S. in Systems Engineering from George Mason University and worked as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Currently, he is completing his Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary, DC. During his downtime, Joseph enjoys the combined experience of good music, coffee, and company. He also loves watching movies and TV shows.

Gina Lee serves as our digital media coordinator. Gina is Korean American, born and raised in Maryland. Gina is passionate about creative storytelling for mission-driven organizations that aim to serve others. She has experience in creating digital designs, offering communication insight, and managing donor relationships in youth development, education, and religious nonprofits. Currently, Gina is working with an Asian-American youth empowerment organization, managing the communications and development responsibilities. When she’s not working, Gina loves to bake, try out new crafts, work out at the gym, and care for her plants.

World Kim serves as director of family ministry and discipleship. World was born and raised in Maryland where he intends to reside for the rest of his life, Lord willing. World has been serving in ministry in various capacities since 2016. In addition, he finished his Ph.D. at the Catholic University of America where he was also a teaching fellow. He has publications in Revue de Qumrân, the Catholic Biblical Quarterly, and the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society. Currently, World is interested in how social identity is constructed by means of interpretation in Second Temple Judaism. World is an avid coffee and energy drink consumer and is highly caffeinated at all times. 

Ji Lee serves as our connections coordinator. Ji was born in South Korea and raised in Maryland. She received her B.A. in Communications (Public Relations) and Sociology from the University of Maryland College Park. She currently owns an event planning business as well as a Korean restaurant with her mother in Ellicott City, Maryland. Ji is passionate about leading and serving her clients so that they can experience God's love and grace through her work and dedication. She has experience in administration, event coordination (corporate, weddings, and milestone celebrations), executive support, and customer service. Ji thrives being around and meeting people and enjoys heartfelt conversations over coffee or bubble tea.

Jessica Yang serves as our operations coordinator. She is a Korean American who was born and raised in Maryland by parents who immigrated from South Korea. Jess has ministry experiences ranging from nursery to young adults, and work experiences in administration, project management, office management, and patient care coordination. During college, she helped charter an Asian-interest sorority on her campus and served in various positions on the executive board and as chapter advisor after graduation. Currently, she is caring for her two children at home. In her downtime, she enjoys playing video games with her husband, making various kinds of kimchi, and enjoys being a part of the BTS A.R.M.Y.
