He recommends starting with the following articles to understand his heart for Rosebrook:
Rachel Jayeon Lee serves as a co-church planter with her husband, Moses. Rachel is a proud 1.5-generation Korean American, born in South Korea and raised in Seattle until she got married and moved to the East Coast for grad school. For her day job, she works closely with community leaders and organizations from the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in the DMV. Previously, she worked at the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research and the American University Antiracist Research and Policy Center. She has written, spoken, and facilitated antiracism training for institutions and organizations. She has written for The Korea Daily, Faithfully Magazine, The SOLA Network, and Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage. She has also worked for organizations focusing on North Korean refugee resettlement and human rights issues. You can read more about her faith and work in this interview by The SOLA Network. She is passionate about good coffee, therapy, and 90’s k-pop.
Joseph Kim is our director of spiritual formation. Joseph was born in Maryland and raised in South Korea and Northern Virginia. In 2011, he served in Korean and American ministry contexts, teaching youth and college students, leading praise, and being involved with overseas missions. Over time, he grew to love preaching and teaching the Bible. He received his B.S. in Systems Engineering from George Mason University and worked as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Currently, he is completing his Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary, DC. During his downtime, Joseph enjoys the combined experience of good music, coffee, and company. He also loves watching movies and TV shows.
Anna Sol Park serves as one of our pastoral interns. Anna was raised by visionary, scrappy Korean-American immigrants and grew up in New Jersey, Georgia, and California. She has a background in talent acquisition, specifically building teams at mission-driven startups. As one of the original founding members of Rosebrook, Anna serves as a children’s ministry praise leader, liturgist, and missional community leader. Her bold prayer is for God to call her to long-term missions to serve indigenous communities in the Pacific Northwest. Although Anna didn’t grow up Christian and committed her life to Christ in her senior year of college, God has transformed her heart to courageously and radically live out a childlike faith only possible through Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection. To emulate this childlike faith, Anna enthusiastically enjoys exorbitant amounts of sour candy, exploring grocery stores for sweet gems, and staying up as late as possible to go on walks at the nearby park.
World Kim serves as director of family ministry and discipleship. World was born and raised in Maryland where he intends to reside for the rest of his life, Lord willing. World has been serving in ministry in various capacities since 2016. In addition, he finished his Ph.D. at the Catholic University of America where he was also a teaching fellow. He has publications in Revue de Qumrân, the Catholic Biblical Quarterly, and the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society. Currently, World is interested in how social identity is constructed by means of interpretation in Second Temple Judaism. World is an avid coffee and energy drink consumer and is highly caffeinated at all times.
Jiaqi Peng serves as one of our pastoral interns. Jiaqi was born in China and raised in Maryland. He received his B.S. in biology from the Pennsylvania State University and his MSc in regulatory sciences from the University of Maryland Baltimore. He is currently working on his Master of Arts (Biblical & Theological Studies) at Covenant Theological Seminary. Jiaqi works as a regulatory specialist at a Korean pharmaceutical company in Rockville, Maryland. He is experienced in helping others tell their stories through videos and project management. Jiaqi is passionate about serving the local and global community so they can experience and come to know God's love and grace. He hopes to use this experience to serve as a long-term missionary in the future and is working towards building a lasting relationship with the Native Lummi Tribe in Washington. In his free time, Jiaqi loves to catch up with friends while trying out new local restaurants, playing board games, watching sports (avid Nittany Lion fan), and creating/editing videos.
